Rathlanam is a music festival, celebrating Rathlin Island’s deep-rooted Celtic traditions, cultural heritage, and breathtaking natural environment. The visual identity features traditional Celtic art with a contemporary twist, celebrating the past and present of the Island.
A Festival of Sound, Sea, and Spirit.
The illustrations are inspired by traditional Celtic insular artwork, depicting musicians in a trinity formation to symbolise the deep connection between individuals, and the wider Rathlin community.
I created a bespoke typeface that blends traditional Irish uncial lettering with modern type design, representing the unity of traditional and contemporary music, heritage and art that the festival celebrates.
